Larry Summers and The Rockefeller Foundation have convened 267 economists to call on policymakers to prioritize UHC as an essential pillar of economic development. The signatories represent 44 countries and include Thomas Piketty, Linah Mohohlo, Joseph Stiglitz, and Paul Collier, and many other leading economic thinkers. The argument in their Economists’ Declaration on Universal Health Coverage is simple: UHC makes economic sense.
